Being residents of Tunbridge Wells and having our office based in the beautiful Pantiles, we are very aware of the variety of events happening in the town across the calendar year. We are delighted to announce that we are supporting the Tunbridge Wells Literary Festival this year, as well as the Royal Tunbridge Wells Orpheus Male Voice Choir who will be performing at the Trinity Theatre. These events are for all ages and we are very lucky to have such culture celebrated on our doorstep.

A weekend festival for book-lovers of all ages

The Tunbridge Wells Literary Festival is looking to be a fabulous weekend with its star-studded line up, between 9th May to 12th May. There are a range of authors attending talks, readings and discussions, with over 60 events in total spread across the town in The Assembly Hall Theatre, The Amelia Scott, Calverley Grounds and the Trinity Theatre.

Sir Michael Palin will be interviewed about his recent memoir; Liz Earle, beauty guru, will be speaking about her latest book and sharing her health and wellbeing tips, and household name Sir Lenny Henry will be interviewed about his biography and will also be hosting a book signing.

There are also plenty of kid-friendly events, with children’s author Liz Pichon, who created the Tom Gates series, hosting a fun workshop talking about her book and teaching her attendees how to doodle, and viral author and illustrator Rob Biddulph will be hosting a #DrawwithRob session, sharing his new book which is all about encouraging children to get creative.

This year there will also be an exiting culinary twist taking place in the stunning grounds of Calverley Park. There will be taste-bud-tantalising events from award-winning chefs such as Michelin-star chef Atul Kochhar who has just opened his spectacular new pan-Indian restaurant Essence, on the Pantiles – after attending its opening we can vouch for the delicious food on their menu!

A musical evening from local male choir

We are very excited for the Tunbridge Wells Orpheus Male Voice Choir’s performance at the historic Trinity Theatre on 18th May, which is set to be a wonderful evening of music. The choir will be singing a collection of songs from a range of genres including pop classics, traditional pieces and musicals. The choir has been developing its sound and its unique blend of voices and rich harmonies promises an entertaining evening. The Bennett Memorial School Junior Choir will also be supporting the choir singing a variety of songs
on the evening, which starts at 7.30pm.
