Maddisons Residential are always keen to get involved in local initiatives to help the Tunbridge Wells community and it seems we are in good company! As  Agents Giving shows, our whole industry is dedicated to providing support for our communities across the country. One initiative in particular has been very successful, leading to more than 700 laptops being donated to schools around the country, and we were more than happy to contribute to this worthy cause!  The only difficulty was deciding which of the many deserving schools in Tunbridge Wells we should give our laptop donation to.

Computers for Schools

Two consultants to the estate agency industry – Stephen J Brown of SJB Consultancy and Jerry Lyons at Estate Agent Content – set up this fantastic initiative to provide much-needed technology to children throughout the pandemic. By organising fund-raising and the donation of tablets, laptops and learning technology from businesses directly they have managed to help alleviate the challenges which the schools’ closures had on children’s education. But the goodwill doesn’t stop just because home-learning is a thing of the past; the scheme continues to help those children who may not have had the funds to purchase computers. An important way to alleviate the gap between less fortunate children and their peers this is a brilliant initiative, which has raised more than £84,500 for schools to date, and which we are proud to support.

Careful consideration

After deciding we would like to donate an HP laptop to a local school through SJB Consultancy’s scheme, it was time to think about where in the local Tunbridge Wells community we should send it. We discussed at length with colleagues and friends and landed on the Broadwater Down Primary School. Just a stone’s throw from our office based on The Pantiles, with core values of Community, Diversity and Excellence, it seemed like the perfect fit. The laptop was presented to the Headmistress, Mrs Harris, by James and Deborah of Maddisons Residential.

Charity in the community

The whole team at Maddisons Residential are always looking for new ways to support the local Tunbridge Wells community, one which we are so proud to be a part of. Last year, we took part in many events and initiatives including The Big Reveal and the Mayor’s Toy Appeal so that we can contribute to the rich and diverse community in which we live and work.
