On Friday the 21st of April, our Founder and Managing Partner, Deborah Richards and Partner, James Richards will be heading to The Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells for the annual St George's Day Luncheon supported by the Tunbridge Wells Exiles. Around 180 guests will come together and enjoy a celebration lunch while raising money for a wonderful charity – the Pickering Cancer Drop-In Centre
Raising money for great causes
The annual St George’s Day lunch is always a well-attended event which is organised by The Exiles, who are a group of Tunbridge Wells businessmen. They put together a charity auction in aid of the Pickering Cancer Drop-in Centre in Monson Road. Last year nearly 180 guests attended and raised over £30,000 giving the charity a vital injection of funds.
This year’s charity – the Pickering Cancer Centre
The Pickering Cancer Drop-In Centre is a self-funding registered charity which was established by a group of cancer patients in November 2004, who recognised the need to somewhere to go, to relax and talk with others in a similar situation. Co-founder, Polly Taylor, is a well-loved and known face of the centre, working tirelessly along with the team, to raise money and awareness locally of the amazing work the centre offers.
The centre offers a safe, relaxing, friendly environment where mutual support and information can be found, without the pressure of appointments or time restraints. They offer a wide range of complementary therapies, such as reflexology, reiki, healing and massage; also, nutritional advice, yoga and counselling which are available free of charge.
Being a part of a supportive community
Deborah Richards, Founder and Managing Partner, comments on attending this year’s St Georges Day lunch.
“James and I are delighted to be a part of a supportive community who raise many thousands of pounds for charity each year. The annual St George’s Day Club Luncheon is a wonderful event and we are really looking forward to catching up with local friends in business while raising money for the Pickering Cancer Centre – a brilliant charity which makes such a difference to people’s lives.”
