Within the Maddisons Residential team we have a combined 300 years of living in Tunbridge Wells. We love our local community and we are passionate about supporting it. As we hit 10 years in business this May, we have reflected upon everything we have achieved, including the ways we have supported our local community over the last decade.

Local charities we have supported

As a business, we feel strongly about giving back some of our profits to charities who do so much for the local community in and around Tunbridge Wells. The following are charities that we have been so pleased to support throughout our journey:

Ellenor – For many years we served as proud ambassadors for Ellenor, a wonderful local charity that provides hospice and in-home care to children and adults with terminal illnesses.

Pickering Cancer Drop-In centre – A superb charity that helps and supports anyone going through the emotional upset of cancer by offering a safe, relaxing, friendly environment where mutual support and information can be found. 

West Kent Mind – An amazing organisation who ensure that people with mental health issues get the support that they need to flourish and thrive.

Hospices of Hope – An inspiring charity that provides hospice funding to a number of South East European countries, so that patients suffering from terminal or life limiting illness can live and die with dignity and without pain.

Lord Mayor's Toy Appeal – Every year we collect new toys donated by the public for the Lord Mayor’s Toy Appeal, a charity that provides Christmas presents to children of families in crisis.

Taylor Made Dreams – An inspirational organisation that make dreams happen for children with life limiting illnesses and provides the family with financial, emotional and practical support alongside their difficult journey.

Local events that we have been a part of

As well as supporting a variety of brilliant charities over the years, Maddisons has sponsored many local events. This year we sponsored the 40th Hendy Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon (our Partner James Richards even took part!), along with the Langton Green Divas football team and will be sponsoring the  upcoming Local and Live, held in the beautiful Calverley Grounds.

In 2021 and 2022 we had the delight of sponsoring The Big Reveal on The Pantiles, a great festive event which raised money for charity. Plus, we have supported several events held at The Amelia.

Helping our local schools and local NHS staff

Maddisons feel passionate about supporting the local schools in the area. To help support them over the years, we have donated a laptop to a disadvantaged school after every 10th sale completed, as well as donating raffle prizes to some of our fantastic local primary schools including The Mead, Langton Green Primary School and Groombridge Primary School.

We also provided 5000 hygiene keys and care packages for the wonderful NHS staff during the pandemic – a small token to show how grateful we were for the amazing work they had done.

We are delighted to have supported such a lively and engaged community over the last decade and look forward to carrying on doing so in the years to come!
