We are so grateful to have such a wonderful and dedicated team at Maddisons Residential, without them we wouldn’t be able to achieve all that we do. This month, we’d like to introduce you to one of our new Property Marketing Coordinators, Lora Grogan. Lora has just joined the team at Maddisons this year, with her previous background in family law providing her with key skills in the world of residential property. Read on to find out more about her and why we think she’s a perfect fit for her role.

What drew you to change your career for a job in property?

“ I have a genuine interest in people and property, and thanks to my  background I am very experienced in managing client expectations, balancing a heavy workload, and navigating difficult conversations that require impartiality. All these skills, I think, enable me to fulfil my role here at Maddisons and meet our client’s needs,” says Lora.

What do you find most enjoyable about your job?

Lora explained that she enjoys how the job gives her the opportunity to connect with a range of people: “I love that I get to speak to a variety of people and learn the stories behind their homes if they are selling and for our buyers, what they might be looking for and why. No two people or stories  are the same which makes the job very interesting.”

What do you find most challenging about being in the real estate industry?

Managing expectations is what Lora finds the most challenging: “I don’t like to disappoint people but unfortunately it does come with the territory, if we are unable to secure a viewing at a preferred time for example.  I hope that our clients can see that, whatever happens, we are always trying our best to assist and make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible.”

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Lora is an avid traveller: “There’s so much world to see and not enough time to see it! My  burning desire to see the Temple of Angkor Wat in Cambodia.”

Spending time with family is also important to Lora and she is often driving her daughter around, as a fully-fledged “dance mum”! Lora’s other hobbies include going to the theatre or going to the gym.

Dream kitchen or dream garden?

If she had to choose, Lora detailed: “Dream kitchen definitely, but I’ve always loved the idea of stepping out of my dream kitchen into my dream kitchen garden, full of home-grown fruits and vegetables.” We can understand her vision, it sounds idyllic!

We are very pleased to have Lora join our team, bringing her expert skills and strong relationship building abilities to help benefit our clients. If you would like help selling, buying, renting or letting a property in or around Tunbridge Wells, please get in touch. We would love to help.
