This month, our guide brings you details of concerts at Bedgebury Pinetum, Tunbridge Wells Farmers’ Markets, glorious displays of roses at Hever Castle and Pashley Manor Gardens and the story of John Lennon at the Trinity Theatre.


Rick Astley – 16th June

Both these concerts are on at Bedgebury Pinetum.

Rick Astley and his band have a fantastic live show which will have everyone up and dancing to the classic hits as well as acclaimed new material from the number one album ‘50’. The special guest is Rumer.

£36.50 plus £4.15 per ticket booking fee. Children aged 5 and under enter free, aged 6 and upwards are full price.

Elbow are a contemporary British music band who are very popular and have been together since 1990 changing their name to Elbow in 1997.

£41.50 plus £4.65 per ticket booking fee. Children aged 5 and under enter free, aged 6 and upwards are full price.

Concert car parks will open at 4pm. The arena opens at 6pm, with live music starting at about 7.30pm and finishing about 10.30pm.

Tunbridge Wells Farmers’ Market

10th and 24th June

9am to 2pm

The market is held on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month.

Come along for cheeses, Rye fish fresh from the boats, organic vegetables, cakes and wines. There is a seating area, hot food and drinks available. This market is FARMA certified and shortlisted as one of the top seven Farmers’ Markets in the country. It is held outside the Town Hall, centrally in the heart of Tunbridge Wells.

Guided Walking Tours of Tunbridge Wells

Every Saturday and Thursday from April to December.

You meet at the Tourist Information Centre in the Corn Exchange and learn all about the historic spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells in a one hour guided stroll through the Pantiles and the historic heart of the town. Visit King Charles the Martyr Church, paid for by public subscription, and see the original lodging houses in the ‘village’ area of the town. Discover the town’s 400 year history and hear about the famous visitors – from Queen Anne to Samuel Pepys – who made Tunbridge Wells the place in which to see and be seen.

Special Rose Week At Pashley Manor Gardens

9th – 17th June

Come along in mid-June to see the glorious roses. It’s the perfect time to celebrate these gorgeous blooms during the Special Rose Week at this quintessentially English garden on the border of Sussex and Kent.

Over the Special Rose Week, there will be the opportunity to take a rose themed walk round the gardens with the Head Gardener and there is a great selection of potted roses from 23 times Chelsea Gold Medal winners Peter Beales Roses which are available to buy, as well as rose themed gifts from the Shop – even the menu in the café features rose inspired dishes over this week!

Hever In Bloom At Hever Castle

Experience the quintessential English Rose Garden at the height of its summer beauty with guided tours of the award-winning Gardens and a floristry workshop with Hever’s florist. Many of the Castle rooms will be filled with stunning floral arrangements created by the florist and garden team.
