The Rightmove House Price Index was released this week and absolutely corroborates what we are feeling here at Maddisons: it is a busy Spring selling season where the largest market share is taken by "Top of Ladder" properties, but vendors are still having to remain realistic about their pricing in order to secure their sale. I was loved watching an archived clip from the BBC, broadcast in 1964, advertising something for sale for £300,000. You’ll be amazed at what that figure would buy at that time! Also, an introduction to a fabulous new monthly magazine published just for our town and well worth a read in my opinion.
