Crowborough, the largest and highest inland town in East Sussex, lies just 7 miles south-west of Tunbridge Wells and is within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and borders the Ashdown Forest, famous as beingthe setting for A.A.Milne's Winnie the Pooh.Crowborough is a busy town, with an excellent Waitrose and countless independent retailers of varying size as well as some very good local cafes and restaurants. The town hosts a monthly Farmer’s Market with plenty of free parking and the local leisure centre offers very good facilities including a swimming pool, gym, sports hall, children’s playground, model railway, skate park, bike track and petanque piste. Home to a thriving arts culture, the town regularly hosts various community events including a Summer Fair, Christmas Events and Firework displays. Crowborough Train Station is on the Southern Line with trains to London going into London Bridge via Oxted and South Croydon in about 1.5 hours and also South towards Uckfield which at the end of the line. Schools and religious venues are plentiful and the town is home to proud local residents who enjoy the quieter feel of a smaller town, while benefitting from easy access to both Tunbridge Wells and the Coast.
